← The journalBeyond the micWelcome to Rated MoM. Pull Up a Chair.Heather FryeOct 20, 2026 · 3 min readIf you found your way here, hi. I'm Heather, and along with Dena and Jessica, I host Rated MoM. Before you hit play on anything, I want to tell you what this show actually is, and what it isn't. It isn't a parenting advice show. None of us are going to tell you the five steps to a calmer household or how to get your toddler to eat broccoli. If you're looking for a perfectly lit kitchen and a woman who has it all figured out, I love that for you, but that's not us. Rated MoM is three women sitting down and saying the things most of us only say in the car, in a group text, or after the second glass of wine. Unfiltered stories of real womanhood. That's the whole idea. Who this is for We made this for women, and especially for married moms in midlife. You know who you are. Maybe your kids are little, maybe they're grown, maybe you have one of each and you're living in both worlds at the same time. Maybe you love your husband and also want to hide from him in the pantry for ten minutes. Maybe your body is doing new things nobody warned you about. Somewhere along the way a lot of us stopped talking about the real stuff. We got busy. We got good at saying "I'm fine." We started comparing our everyday lives to everybody else's highlight reel and quietly deciding we were the only ones struggling. You're not. That's the point of the show. What we actually talk about We cover whatever is really going on in our lives and yours. A few episodes so far give you a pretty good feel for it. We talked about why adult friendships are so hard, and why losing one can hurt more than a breakup. We went there on perimenopause, ADHD, and alcohol, because those are the things women are quietly Googling at midnight. We did an entire episode called "Summer's Over. Everybody Panic." and honestly, the title says it all. We begged everyone to please stop posting AI headshots that look nothing like you. And most recently we talked about taking the trip, the girls trip, the one you keep almost canceling because of the guilt, the cost, or the planning. Some episodes are funny. Some get heavy. Most of them are both, because that's how real life works. You can be laughing about something one minute and dealing with something hard the next. Why three of us Because one voice isn't the whole story. Jessica brings the humor and the heart, and she's the friend everyone feels safe opening up to. Dena is the calm in the chaos, the one who reminds us that healing isn't weakness. And me, I'm usually the one saying the thing everybody else is thinking. We don't always agree, and we don't pretend to. That's part of what makes it work. You get three different perspectives on the same question, and you get to decide where you land. What we hope you get out of it Honestly, I hope you feel a little less alone. I hope you hear something and think, oh good, it's not just me. I hope you laugh at least once an episode, even if it's at us. And I hope it starts conversations. With your friends, with your partner, maybe with yourself. Some of the best stuff happens after the episode ends, when you text a friend and say, you have to listen to this. No judgment here. No filters. Just real women telling real stories and being honest about the parts of life that don't fit neatly on social media. Come hang out with us New episodes come out every other Tuesday.
